running for a purpose

25 notes

In a shocking turn of events…

Today will be a rest day. I’m catching up and getting ahead on homework, the two months worth of magazines I’m behind on, and stretching/rolling.

I didn’t go into it yesterday, but I completed a virtual half marathon For the Love of the Kids, and it was a little less than spectacular. I made it 6.5 miles before my achilles/calf started to ache, and walked the last 6 miles. I’m really beginning to get nervous about this. I felt absolutely great after trading Saturday’s 20 mile run for 3.5 hours of cross-training, so I’m going to continue to cross-train. I don’t know if I should put a hold on running or do very little until NOLA, but it’s making me nervous.

I’m not good at resting.
